Cruising

Cruise Rookery Bay on the Good Fortune! Let our captains take you on a unique adventure through the mangrove lined channels of Rookery Bay on the “Good Fortune” pontoon boat. Advance reservations for cruises required.

FREE Guided Nature Walks

Clam Pass Nature Walk– Boardwalk, Bay and Beach
More than a nature walk, an educational experience! Learn how our ancestors used Florida’s state tree, and all about mangroves. View amazing wildlife and sand dwellers during this two hour excursion. Wear sunscreen and a hat.

Tigertail Beach Nature Walk
This natural beach is well known to birders worldwide! You can see and learn about the wonderous birds, land and sand dwellers that live and nest in this habitat. Tigertail Beach has been designated a critical wildlife area by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to protect the 86 different species of wintering, migratory, nesting, and resident birds. Water shoes and binoculars recommended.

Western Everglades Exploration

Join Conservancy experts for a weekly adventure series exploring the ‘Western Everglades’. This five week series is designed for adults looking to expand their knowledge about Southwest Florida’s unique and amazing wildlife. This customized program will showcase the day trips starting at the headwaters of the western Everglades to the Ten Thousand Islands and the Gulf of Mexico. Space is limited to 12 participants per series. Pre-Registration is required. Transportation to destinations, as well as additional water and snacks are provided. Cost: $299 members/$329 non members.

Arts and the Environment

Join Conservancy staff on a once in a lifetime opportunity to meet your favorite artists and the studios where they create the magic. These customized trips take you to visit well known artists with an environmental conscious as they open up their hearts, studios and gardens to you for the day. Each trip includes a shuttle to the artist’s studio, a personal tour by the artist and a special dining experience. Registration is required and space is limited for this intimate experience.

Jonathan Green – Monday February 2nd
9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Visit Conservancy trustee Jonathon Green’s 20 acres of paradise on the edge of the Everglades. In his art, Green draws upon his own intimate personal experiences, steeping in the traditions of family, community and life in the southern United States. He will share his passion for nature and art as you tour his created gardens, natural areas and studio.

Clyde Butcher – Monday February 23rd
9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Located in the heart of the Everglades, the Big Cypress Gallery is the photographic art gallery and studio of Clyde and Niki Butcher. Get a personalized tour of their work, the gallery, and a swamp walk to view some of Butcher’s favorite orchids.

Kathy Spalding – Monday March 16th
9:30 am – 1:30 pm
Kathy Spalding is one of the most notable international sculptors of true-life bronzes in the country. She has studied and worked in some of the most exotic destinations in the world. From the Amazon to Australia and Falkland Islands, this visit to her studio will be like a trip around the world.
