Our outreach programs foster environmental awareness through engaging, age-appropriate activities. Pre-K and Kindergarten NEW! Wildlife Adventure Series (30 minutes) Join us on a wild adventure! Discover amazing animals and explore nature through multi-sensory, interactive activities, stories, games and more. Program 1: Awesome Alligators Program 2: Slither, Slither Snake Program 3: Terrific Turtles Puppet Show Series (45 minutes) Join the adventures of Alligator, Tortoise, Raccoon and Owl as they explore new habitats, meet new animal friends, and learn how to work together to protect our environment. Program 1: The Natural Café Program 2: Caring for Critters Program 3: Water, Water Everywhere Grades 1-2 (45 minutes) NEW! Under the Sea The ocean is home to amazing creatures big and small! We’ll explore the unique habitats under the sea and learn how animals survive in this salty world. Discover how all life on Earth is connected to the ocean and how we can work together to keep the ocean clean and healthy. Wonders of Reptiles Explore the scaly-skinned world of reptiles from agile alligators and slithering snakes, to lizards, turtles and more! Learn about reptiles’ role in the food web, how they are different from other animals and how we can help to protect these unique and important creatures. Grades 3-5 (45 minutes) NEW! Amazing Adaptations Use inquiry skills to investigate amazing animal adaptations. Discover how adaptations help animals survive in extreme environments. Students then create their own creature adapted to its unique habitat. C.S.I. – Critter Scene Investigation Become a Critter Scene Investigator! Discover the identity of animal suspects by examining clues they leave behind in the wild. Students will explore how scientists use clues to better understand how to protect wildlife in Southwest Florida. Nails & Scales Discover the realm of reptiles, amazing creatures adapted to land and sea. Explore characteristics that make reptiles unique, investigate threats that reptiles face, and uncover the importance of reptiles in Southwest Florida. Grades 6-12 (45 minutes) NEW! Ocean Matters Explore the ocean’s diverse ecosystems from the shallow coral reefs to the deep ocean trenches. Examine how the ocean influences all life on Earth and how human activities can impact its health. Learn how to take action to preserve the ocean and its incredible creatures for future generations. NEW! Predators of the Sky From tiny screech owls to majestic bald eagles, Southwest Florida is a vital habitat for many bird species – including raptors! Explore unique adaptations of birds of prey and discover the importance of each species in the ecosystem. Discuss human-introduced threats and how students can help to make a difference for bird conservation. Large Group Program Option (45 minutes) Schedule a presentation for an entire grade level. Each program includes three live animal encounters. Available to grades 1-12. Wild about Wildlife Explore the diverse habitats of Southwest Florida and meet some of the species that call these areas home. Learn how these animals have adapted to live in unique environments and what you can do to help protect wildlife in your own backyard. Reptile Rendezvous Reptiles Rock! Meet live reptiles up close and investigate what makes reptiles so unique. Uncover how reptiles have survived for millions of years and their importance in our local ecosystems and beyond.
