JONEE' MILLER

 von Arx Wildlife Hospital Manager

Jonee’ is the Manager for the von Arx Wildlife Hospital caring for around 3,800 native birds, mammals, and reptiles admitted per year. She is a native Floridian and from childhood fostered a passion for animals and the outdoors.  Her work at the Hospital includes daily and advanced patient care, working closely with and training interns and volunteers, and overseeing daily operations.

After graduation, she followed her lifelong dream of working with animals, leading her to travel across the United States for the next four years.  She worked monitoring sea turtles on an island off the coast of South Carolina, collected benthic freshwater samples and led kayaking tours through Francis Beidler Forest near Charleston, SC, tracked and trapped radio tagged prairie grouse through Oklahoma, and monitored nesting swallow-tailed kites via helicopter and ground surveys in Georgia.  One of her many internships was here at the Conservancy where she fell in love with wildlife rehabilitation and joined the full-time staff in 2004.
