FALL 2018 - SPRING 2019

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida’s Teen ECCO (Exploring Conservation Career Opportunities) Program is a newly-developed, unique, and immersive experience designed to expand on traditional high school studies with focus on students exploring conservation career opportunities. This internship will provide students with hands-on experiences in scientific research, volunteer opportunities, exceptional field trips, opportunities to learn from experts in a variety of environmental fields, and chances to build relationships with students with similar interests.

We are currently seeking highly-motivated students interested in STEM and environmental careers for the program. This internship requires a high level of commitment. Please evaluate and consider your other commitments before submitting your application packet. Qualified students will be chosen for formal interviews and then selected for the program. New participants accepted into the program will start with an orientation to the Conservancy before joining on required bimonthly Thursday meetings and conclude their program in May of 2019.The program commitments also consist of participation in field trips, shadowing conservation professionals at the Conservancy, and completing a group scientific research project. See further information on the commitments required for the program within the online application.

Please note: If under the age of 16, applicants must also be interns under the Collier County Public Schools (CCPS) internship program and therefore be enrolled in the public school system within Collier County. Please visit the CCPS Internships web page (http://www.collierschools.com/Page/8220) to learn more information and for further requirements. This includes students being required to log 120 hours during the course of the their program.
