ANDREW MURPHY

MAY 2019

Andrew moved to Naples permanently in 2013 from Long Island, New York where he lived his whole life. After graduating from St. John’s University, he became a CPA and worked most of his career in the financial industry.

Andrew and his wife, Ellen, and joined the Conservancy over 10 years ago after visiting the campus. They were impressed with the work that the Conservancy was doing and wished to become involved.

LEARN MORE ABOUT VOLUNTEERING WITH THE CONSERVANCY

When they started at the Conservancy, Andrew worked in various temporary jobs including helping out on the mailing committee, doing data input for the wildlife hospital and filling in for the accounting department. Ellen handled the reception desk at the welcome center. After Andrew’s wife passed away in 2011, Andrew took over the Saturday morning slot in guest services and has served there for seven years.

One of Andrew’s favorite memories at the Conservancy was when he organized two eco-cruises on the Good Fortune. The first one was for relatives and friends as a memorial to Ellen and the other was for neighbors of his condominium. Both trips were most enjoyable because of all the birds and nature experiences.

Thank you, Andrew, for your role in protecting Southwest Florida’s unique natural environment and quality of life…now and forever.
