Kate Holbrooks

February 2020

Kate Holbrooks is originally from St. Louis, but moved with her family to Massachusetts at a young age. She grew up primarily in Westport, Connecticut and Boston, Massachusetts and worked at BellSouth in Marketing and Internal Communications. Kate explained after her husband’s retirement, they moved to Naples because they enjoy the lifestyle and have so many connections in the area.

Kate began volunteering at the von Arx Wildlife Hospital in 2001. She had previously volunteered at a similar wildlife rehabilitation center in Birmingham, AL, and knew right away the Conservancy would be a great fit for her. When she is not volunteering at the wildlife hospital, Kate works part time while also making time to travel, read, hike, work out, and spend time with her family and friends.

Kate has many fond memories during her time at the wildlife hospital—too many to choose just one. She is grateful for everything she has learned during each and every shift, and has enjoyed making so many friends. The experiences that occur during each shift are always rewarding and she is continually honored to work with such dedicated, knowledgeable, caring, and welcoming staff and volunteers at the wildlife hospital.

We thank Kate for his role in protecting Southwest Florida’s unique natural environment and quality of life…now and forever.
