Ken moved to Naples from Fairfield, Connecticut in 1984. His wife, Beth Krier, is a Circuit Judge for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit of Florida (Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties). They have four children between them. 


Ken was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and attended Phillips Academy (Andover) and Wesleyan University. He received his law degree from the University of Virginia and a Master of Laws (in Taxation) from New York University. He is a principal of the law firm of Cummings & Lockwood and concentrates his practice in the areas of estate and tax planning, charitable giving and estate and trust administration.

He is certified by The Florida Bar in Wills, Trusts and Estates. He is an author and frequent speaker on estate planning topics, having served on the faculty of the University of Connecticut and the Connecticut Bar Association Continuing Legal Education Program.

In addition to his professional activities, he is a 1993 graduate of Leadership Collier, a director of the Forum Club, the Culinary and Hospitality Education Foundation of Southwest Florida, and Admiralty Point Condominium Association. He is Co-chairman of the Planned Giving Committee of the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, a member of the Endowment Committee of North Naples United Methodist Church, a past president of the Park Shore Association, The Naples Players, the Naples Better Government Committee and Admiralty Point Condominium Association.

He is a past director of the Naples Community Hospital, the Operating and Endowment Boards of the YMCA of Collier County, the Collier County Arts Council, the United Arts Council of Collier County and the Cooper Institute for Advanced Studies in Medicine and the Humanities, and a past trustee and past member of the Administrative Council of North Naples United Methodist Church.
