The Conservancy of Southwest Florida IS NOT “the local chapter of The Nature Conservancy.” The Conservancy of Southwest Florida is an independent, regionally-based environmental organization with a focus on the water, land, wildlife and future of our five-county area, dependent almost totally on local philanthropic support. While we share a similar name, we are not affiliated with The Nature Conservancy. While in many instances we are aligned, and we appreciate their many contributions to conservation, we are not formally nor financially connected.
While we are located in close proximity to The Naples Zoo, we are separate organizations. We do partner on topics ranging from Burmese pythons research to Florida panther habitat. We also host joint events from time to time for our members and the community.
Yes! The Conservancy Nature Center is the gateway to our mission. For more than 55 years, the Conservancy of Southwest Florida has been a leading environmental advocacy organization dedicated to protecting the water, land, wildlife and future of our five-county area. The Conservancy uses the synergy of four teams to meet this mission. These teams include: Science and Research, Policy and Advocacy, Environmental Education, and Wildlife Rehabilitation. This combination of expertise is unique to the Conservancy and enjoys a widespread reputation for excellence. Learn more about our work here.
