One of the newest initiatives at the Conservancy is our response to the challenge of the escalating presence of exotic and invasive species in our region. The Conservancy has played a key role in the inter-agency regional CISMA (Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area) effort to raise awareness and conduct surveys on the threat from a myriad of plant and animal invasive species.
In addition to these inter-agency efforts, the Conservancy is also partnering with several researchers on cutting edge field research to better understand the behavior of the Burmese Pythons in our area.
The Conservancy’s goal is to help contribute solutions help control the spread of invasive and damaging species in an effective and humane manner.
